How Long Does Concrete Leveling Last?
The honest answer is that it depends on why the slab moved, not on which material went underneath it. Anyone quoting you a guaranteed number of years is telling you about their marketing, not your soil.
Separate two questions
Does the material last?
Does the ground stay put?
What determines whether a lift holds
- Whether the cause was addressed. Drainage, downspouts, grading, a leaking line. This dominates everything else.
- Whether the void was properly filled. A lift that achieved elevation without full support beneath is fragile.
- Soil behaviour on the site. Ground that changes volume with moisture keeps changing.
- Loads on the slab. A driveway carrying heavy vehicles works harder than a patio.
- Slab condition. A sound slab distributes load; a cracked one concentrates it.
- Execution. Injection locations, control of the lift, and not over-lifting.
Why we publish no lifespan figure
Reading a warranty honestly
Warranties on this work vary widely, and the term length matters far less than the wording. Questions worth asking in writing:
- What exactly is covered — the lifted slab, the injected material, or a specific elevation?
- How much subsequent movement triggers it?
- Is further settlement from soil or water conditions excluded?
- Does it transfer if the property is sold?
- Is it the provider's own warranty or a manufacturer's material warranty?
- What voids it?
A shorter warranty with clear terms is worth more than a longer one that excludes the most likely failure mode.

If a slab settles again
Repeat movement after a competent lift usually means the cause is still active, not that the method failed. That is the point to look harder at water and, in some cases, to get a qualified engineering opinion on the site rather than injecting a third time.
At that stage, replacement with corrected base and drainage may be the better spend.
Homeowner questions
Is foam permanent?
The cured material is durable and does not simply dissolve. That is not the same as a permanent guarantee that the ground beneath it will not change.
Does mudjacking wash out over time?
Cured cement-based material is durable. Where water is actively moving material beneath a slab, that water is the problem for any method.
Can leveling be redone on the same slab?
Often yes, if the slab is still sound. But a second settlement is a strong signal to investigate the cause rather than repeat the repair.

Ask providers about the cause, not just the lift
Describe the drainage around your slab in your request. The providers who address it are the ones whose work is more likely to hold.
